Each year, OBAP implements vital programs to create awareness, inspire and propel aerospace careers nationwide.

Youth-focused programs are an integral element of our organization, insuring the children are provided with the awareness and opportunities to cultivate dreams.  In partnership with Delta Air Lines, OBAP hosts more than 150 students, ages 14-18, on the airline’s annual Dream Flight from Atlanta to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. While at the base, students tour the National Museum of the United States Air Force and a C-17 Globemaster cargo aircraft on the flightline of the 445th Airlift Wing.

Each year OBAP also sends 100 student participants to the National Flight Academy thanks to the gracious support from FedEx Express. Held in Pensacola, on board the massive virtual aircraft carrier AMBITION, youth experience an immersive, aviation-based adventure unlike any other in the world. During the six-day deployment, participants are surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators and exciting missions that ignite imagination and encourage learning, teamwork and communication.

Through youth-focused programs; ACE Academies, sUAS Training, Solo Flight Academy each year, OBAP reaches nearly 3,000 youth nationwide.

To further catapult young adults into aviation professions, OBAP awards scholarships to offset costs for college tuition or STEM-related training. To date, OBAP has awarded $4.8 million in scholarships to more than 470 diverse recipients!

Additionally, OBAP strives to provide a continuum of support from “cradle to career” and offers career guidance, mentoring and professional development tools through the Aerospace Professional Development Program (APDP) which hosts sessions during the Spring Career Fair and the Annual Convention and Career Fair.
